At a glance

Nalara helps you understand app usage, set time goals, and receive reminders. Core activity data stays on your device. Permissions are used for the features you choose to enable.

Information stored on your device

Nalara may store your settings, selected apps, daily limits, screen time history, focus sessions, schedules, and reminder interactions. If optional scroll tracking is enabled, it may store estimated counts of supported scrolling events.

Nalara does not need message content, passwords, screenshots, or watched videos to provide these features.

Android permissions

  • Usage Access: read Android-provided usage statistics to calculate time spent in apps and show insights.
  • Display over other apps: show dismissible reminders when a limit is detected.
  • Notifications: deliver local reminders when enabled.
  • Accessibility (optional): detect scrolling events in supported apps. Not required for basic screen time statistics.

Android may restrict background monitoring and reminder timing, so notifications and overlays may not appear immediately on every device.

Purchases and third-party services

If Pro purchases are offered, transactions run through Google Play and may involve a subscription provider. Purchase and transaction identifiers may be processed by those providers under their policies. Your usage history is not needed to process a purchase.

If advertising, analytics, or crash reporting are added in a future version, this policy and the relevant Google Play disclosures should be updated before release.

Retention and deletion

Local history follows the retention settings available in the app. You can clear your history or reset local data in You → Privacy & data. Clearing Nalara data does not necessarily remove Android's own usage statistics; Android may supply recent usage data again while permission remains granted.

Read the Data Deletion page for instructions.

Security and your choices

Nalara is designed to process core usage data on-device, without an account for its basic features. You can revoke permissions in Android Settings. Dependent features may stop or show unavailable data when permissions are disabled.

Changes and contact

This policy may change as features or service providers change. The effective date is shown above. For privacy questions, email hello@alfaa.dev.
